1.DJ Format & Phill Most Chill – Triple Threat MCs ft The Rampagers

Headlining the article is a track off DJ Format’s latest project with Phill Most Chill. While the whole album, ‘The Foremost’ is full of great tracks, Triple Threat was the standout track for us, and if you’ve not checked out the album make sure you do.

2.Dynasty – Stay Shinin’ Feat. Talib Kweli

Taken off the album ‘A Star In Life’s Clothing’ and produced by Jinx, this is a powerful tune mixing up a traditional blues riff with great effect. The album is worth checking out as well as Dynasty’s previous link up with DJ Premier.

3.Roast Beatz – This is Not a Love Song

Off the Booty Fruit label, this is a tune that seems to get everyone’s head nodding in the right direction. Transforming the Nouvelle Vague track of the same title courtesy of some Grand Puba & Biggie vocals cut to perfection . We can’t wait to see what Booty Fruit put out in 2014.

4.Jonwayne – The Come Up Pt.1 Feat. Scoop Deville

Definitely no relation to Lil Wayne, The Stones Throw rapper and producer Jonwayne has been a breath of fresh air. From the album aptly entitled ‘Rap Album One’ and with the assistance of Scoop Deville, this was a track we found hard to ignore.

5.Taggy Matcher – Jump Around

The 5th instalment of the infamous Stix ‘Hip Hop Reggae Series’ unsurprisingly pulls no punches, and this is evident with Taggy Matcher’s version of ‘Jump Around’. It’s a very different take on the original but one we certainly liked, and definitely provides some stiff competition for Pete Rock’s legendary Remix which should say it all.
